How to Make Moving With Kids Fun

Let Them Help Pack

The first thing that you can do is let them help pack the house up. Of course, certain things need to go in certain boxes. Other things need to be wrapped up safely in bubble wrap to ensure that they don’t break or get damaged during the move.

Depending on the age of your children, they may be able to help with the wrapping and the putting in boxes carefully. If not, then you can always ask them to bring you things if they want to be involved.

Remember that if they don’t want to help, they don’t have to. It might even be simpler for you if they are watching something on YouTube while you’re packing!

But, if they do want to help, try to give them things that won’t break. It doesn’t matter if things are squished into a box as long as they aren’t going to get damaged. Toys, for example can be put into the box any which way they want, so let them do this whenever possible.

Consider asking them to pack up things in their bedroom or pack clothes from out of a dresser. If you have a play room, having your child start there is a good idea. When you do this, your child won’t be anxious that things may get left behind.
