Lansing makes a perfect family day trip because there is something for everyone. Kids love Potter Park Zoo, while adults can tour the Michigan State Capitol or spend time exploring downtown. My kids also really love MSU Horticulture Gardens, where there are over 55 themes for kids to explore and a butterfly house. Their favorite, however, is probably Impression 5 Discovery Center.

You can also visit a trampoline park like Sky Zone while you’re there. Sometimes I jump with the kids while we go, but other times I seize the opportunity to get some work finished.

I also love visiting Hooked, which is a bookstore where you can buy drinks and snacks (including wine and beer!).
