This month’s May book club pick is The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer, and it’s one that’ll really make you stop and think about life.
It centers around a question that’s hard to ignore:
Are you actually living the life you want, or just the one you ended up with?
It explores regret, choice, and what it looks like to really pay attention to your own life. It also takes you on a journey of what happens when you start questioning life.

Why I Chose This May Book Club Pick
This pick kept coming back to one idea for me: figuring out what you really want, and then deciding if you’re willing to go after it. It’s easy to move through life on autopilot, doing what makes sense or what’s expected. This story pushes on that a little, looking at the weight of regrets, the choices people carry with them, and what happens when you actually stop and take a closer look at your own.
The Vibe
- reflective
- a little emotional
- character-driven
- steady, not rushed
It’s more about the ideas and the people than big plot twists, which makes it easy to settle into.
Who This Book Is For
If you liked The Midnight Library or Before the Coffee Gets Cold, this will likely be a good fit. It leans into similar themes around life choices, timing, and the paths we take.
The Collected Regrets of Clover is a good pick if you enjoy books that make you pause and think a little about your own direction.
Discussion Questions
If you’re reading along this month, here are a few questions to think about:
- What would you do if you could see people’s regrets the way Clover does?
- Do you think regrets shape us more than our successes?
- Was there a moment in the book that stood out to you? Why?
- Did this story make you think differently about your own life or choices?
- Clover talks about “living out of habit.” What do you think that means?
